Cyclone Alfred is forecasted to reach the Coast around Wednesday, March 5, 2025, and Saturday, March 8, 2025.
As we prepare for strong winds and heavy rain, we urge all tenants to secure any loose items.
The Boat Works team is conducting regular checks on all vessels within our yard and marina ahead of the cyclone. However, we ask that you and your team also check your customers’ vessels to ensure everything is properly secured and stowed away.

Key Preparations for Severe Weather:
β Prepare an emergency kit with extra lines, torches, fenders, tape, pumps, buckets, and tools. Double up mooring lines.
β Minimize wind exposure β Remove excess deck gear (lifebuoys, Biminis, etc.) and stow them below.
β Secure all equipment β Tie off radar antennas and ensure self-draining openings are clear and functional.
β Dinghy precautions β Empty, remove bungs, or ideally, stow them away.
β Protect power and tools β Lift all power leads, tools, and loose items off the floor.
β Engine and battery readiness β Ensure engines are operational and batteries are fully charged.
β Bilge pump check β Confirm all pumps are in working order.
β If staying aboard your vessel in the marina, you MUST notify Marina Management of your presence and plans.
β Follow safety directives β Marina Management may restrict access to pontoons and hardstand areas for safety reasons.
β Plan ahead β If you intend to move your vessel to a safer location, do so before conditions worsen. Severe weather makes maneuvering highly dangerous.
β Secure hardstand vessels β Chock trailer wheels, engage brakes, and ensure boats are properly tied down.
β Non-essential personnel and children should leave the marina before the cyclone arrives.
β Check your insurance coverage to ensure your vessel is protected.
If you are aware of anyone staying aboard a vessel during this period, please notify us immediately.
We are closely monitoring weather updates and will keep you informed via email and text messages. You can also check the latest weather forecasts at: Bureau of Meteorology.
The office will have printed forecasts updated twice daily for your reference.
Please look out for one another, stay prepared, and stay safe!
