Marine Trade Supplies & Chandlery, located onsite at The Boat Works, now stocks Pettit Hydrocoat from Altex Yacht & Boat Paint—an advanced water-based, ablative antifouling designed to deliver reliable, multi-season protection against marine fouling.
Unlike many conventional antifouling products, Hydrocoat replaces harsh solvents with water. This makes it easier to apply, produces no strong solvent odour and allows tools and equipment to be cleaned using soap and water. Its low-VOC formula also offers a cleaner, greener and more user-friendly option for boat owners and marine trades.
Hydrocoat’s controlled ablative surface gradually wears away while the vessel is in use, continually exposing fresh biocides. This helps reduce excessive coating build-up and minimises the amount of sanding required when it is time to recoat.
Formulated to withstand frequent trailering, launching and beaching, Hydrocoat also offers unlimited dry time before launching. It can be applied throughout the year in temperatures of 10°C and above, giving owners and contractors greater flexibility when scheduling maintenance.
