Bathurst, Boats, back behind the wheel

Yesterday owner Tony Longhurst, was acknowledging his crew on the new era of service the site has entered into. In the past three years, Tony has invested in a $20 million development program to elevate the premises to industry-leading standard. Thanks to the dynamic team, led by General Manager Shane Subichin, and a complete range of top marine trades, the facility has evolved into what is considered Australia’s greatest boatyard. ‘It’s been a united team effort’ Tony says.

untitled-design-4This weekend, Tony Longhurst, will leave the Boatyard to join the Toyota 86 Racing Series as the new one-make category heads into its third round at Sandown 500 (September 16–18)

No stranger to the motor racing track spanning over more than three decades, the two-time Bathurst 1000 winner joins Steve Johnson and Leanne Tander as a guest driver.

“I’m looking forward to getting to grips with the 86 and seeing what kind of headway I can make in such a huge field,” Tony said.

The crew here at The Boat Works wish him all the best, no knock ons this time….!
