Yesterday owner Tony Longhurst, was acknowledging his crew on the new era of service the site has entered into. In the past three years, Tony has invested in a $20 million development program to elevate the premises to industry-leading standard. Thanks to the dynamic team, led by General Manager Shane Subichin, and a complete range of top marine trades, the facility has evolved into what is considered Australia’s greatest boatyard. ‘It’s been a united team effort’ Tony says.
This weekend, Tony Longhurst, will leave the Boatyard to join the Toyota 86 Racing Series as the new one-make category heads into its third round at Sandown 500 (September 16–18)
No stranger to the motor racing track spanning over more than three decades, the two-time Bathurst 1000 winner joins Steve Johnson and Leanne Tander as a guest driver.
“I’m looking forward to getting to grips with the 86 and seeing what kind of headway I can make in such a huge field,” Tony said.
The crew here at The Boat Works wish him all the best, no knock ons this time….!
