Mr Rob Ungar was recently awarded 2019 Victorian Sailing Awards, “Motor Yachtsperson of the Year. A devoted power boatie Rob and his good friends set of to cruise further afield from Beaumaris Yacht Squadron and Sandringham Yacht Club and head on a distant adventure.
Gathering a group of 10 like-minded boat owners and crews, 43 in total, from several Yacht Clubs & Marinas around the Port Philip Bay, some who had not experienced Blue Water Cruising, Bass Strait or even the beauty of Tasmania let alone a circum-navigation of some 1200 nautical miles of this magnificent coastline.
This spectacular 176-page full colour hardback coffee table book tells stories and adventures of this unforgettable journey. It covers, specifications of the boats, weather predictions, the log, charts, preparation, departure and a day by day account of the harbours, rivers, towns and waterways visited. The book has some magnificent photos of Tasmania, including the amazing coastline, ocean and boats.
This book is a must for anyone contemplating a trip like this or would like to see how it was done.
We were guided by two professional Skippers including a Tasmanian Mike Percy and another experienced Skipper David Prior who has previously cruised the Tasmanian waterways.
The publication was made possible thanks to many companies who took out advertising to promote their products and services.
They are set to launch the book 26th November 2019 at The Sandringham Yacht Club Jetty road Sandringham 3191 at 6.00pm.

The latest edition follows on from the 1st published coffee table book “Kimberly Odyssey” of that trip with all funds raised from the sale of the book going to new and improving facilities for the SYC juniors.
