Pursuit sportfishing and family boats set to debut in Australia.
American premium fishing and family boat brand Pursuit will be launched in Australia this coming summer (2019) with Cobalt’s Boats of Australia partnering with the prestigious US brand.
“We know how the team in Australia have grown Cobalt to be the largest export market outside of the USA, and we look forward to having the same success with Pursuit,” Pursuit Boats Vice President of International Sales, George Hetzel says.
General Manager of Cobalt Boats of Australia Andy Clayton says his team are very excited to be bringing the leader in the saltwater outboard fishing segment to Australia.
“The Pursuit boat is a premium offshore fishing boat that has crossed over into a versatile family boat while also offering pure sportfishing models in its range,” Andy says.
“Dad gets to fish, you can tow the kids for water sports, and there’s plenty of seating for mum and guests to sit back and relax, making the Pursuit a suitable boat for the whole family,” he says.
The brand evolved from its start 42 years ago into a high-end boutique brand in the vein of Boston Whaler and Grady White.
The range is an award-winning product line of Centre Console, Offshore, Sport and Dual Console models and extends from 23 to over 40 feet with dual console family runabouts, enclosed cockpit models and hard top sport fish offerings.
“We cater to a clientele with a range of boating needs and high expectations so our Pursuit partnership will give clients another high-performance boating option in the fishing and offshore space,” Andy says.
The series of fishing boats were introduced in 1977 and is designed, developed and manufactured in the USA by the family who began Tiara and is now part of the US parent company that also owns Cobalt Boats which are distributed in Australia by Cobalt of Australia.
“Adding the Pursuit brand rounds out the range we offer covering family bowriders, premium pontoon boats and now a high-end offshore range with a fishing bent,” he says.
Pursuit Boats will have retail locations on the Gold Coast, Sydney and Melbourne.
The first Pursuit models to arrive in Australia in November will be the 235 DC, S288 and OS 325.
