As we farewell 2020 we reflect on the how we adapted and diversified.
It has brought around a new found way of working together and collaborating. A number of our onsite marine trade professionals have united together to work on various refit and maintenance jobs to achieve a common goal for the customer.
We commend the trades on their efforts to continue to push on when times looked to be challenging.
The start of year brought way to the opening of the Superyacht Refit Yard & Marina, after an 18 month extensive build program the site has delivered a world-class whiteboat refit facility.
This has enabled Gold Coast to boost its lifting capacity with the 300 tonne marine Travel lift, 18 Super sheds, 10 x 50m Hardstand allocations, 20 new superyacht berths, VIP Captain & Crew Lounge and complimenting facilities.
The year then progressed into uncertain times. We weren’t sure if our doors would remain open, fortunately with our unique outdoor environment our industry was able to continue and The Boat Works helped stimulate the boating industry by reducing rates by 50%. Encouraging to help and assist owner, trades etc. to get the works done at a reduced rate. This enabled the yard along with 70+ marine operators onsite in the facility to maintain keeping their doors open. A massive boon to the industry and services.
Somewhat of a stimulus package in itself.
We extend our gratitude to all of our Marine Professionals for their commitment to service throughout the challenging year and appreciate how they have adapted and continued to work together.
In addition, we extend our Thanks to all of our loyal staff & crew who worked tirelessly to help encourage a safe and high level of service over the course of the unique year.
Majority of our Crew from Shipyard operators, maintenance and operations through to the office & administration crew have either reached their 10yr+ milestones or are closely approaching their 10 years of service with the company. We’re proud of the teams loyalty, knowledge and experience and together we look forward to continuing to deliver exceptional service in the years to come.
2021: We’re looking forward to delivering the opening of stage 3.
A $30 million superyacht services hub that will facilitate 11 additional workshops, marine trades & services with marine retail showrooms. Further enhancing the offer and providing a comprehensive option of choice.
In addition, we have a few exciting new projects in the pipeline that will further enhance the ‘Boat Works’ experience.
